Behavioral Threat Assessment

While the world around us seems to be in a state of constant turmoil and chaos, one constant in law enforcement remains…training must still go on. Preparing for a mass casualty event and recognizing behaviors associated with acts of targeted violence is no exception. Every person who plans to commit an act of targeted violence typically moves through a pathway of violence and exhibits warning typology behavior prior to committing those acts of violence. These behaviors can often be dismissed or overlooked because investigators and/or bystanders cannot put a name to the behavior(s). When “behavior of concern” is identified, agencies often do not have a mechanism or platform in place to conduct a true violent risk assessment. Whether investigating active shooters, domestic violence, hate crimes, stalking, predatory assault, workplace violence, targeted assault or any number of violent crimes, this training will assist participants identify signs of what may be coming before it too late.
